Take a biodiverse approach to your natural assets.
With environmental technologies like carbon capture and green energy becoming much more prevalent as we approach 2050, landowners are presented with the unique opportunity to make a massive difference. At Tariff, we have the exact tools to help you revolutionise the way you view the land you own.
We’ll work tirelessly alongside you to ensure that you’re able to put your land to effective use, and taking advantage (both fiscally and environmentally) of the emerging concepts of Woodland Carbon Units and Habitat Units.
As a landowner, you’ve undoubtedly got concerns and questions about the way we’ll help you deploy your land. That’s where our expert team can lay to rest those initial fears. We’re exceptionally proud to be able to offer a completely tailormade service, taking into account your unique circumstances and the land you have.
We’ll constantly be on hand to provide you with the support you need, whether that’s discussing how we’ll make the most out of your natural capital assets, or offering guidance on commercial energy projects like battery farming or solar panels.
With vacant land attracting significant taxes, bills are often a huge concern for landowners across UK-wide. By utilising your land to pioneer initiatives like Woodland Credits, you’re able to generate an additional stream of income, and offset those additional charges.
Plus, with Woodland and Biodiversity becoming much more in-demand as businesses move towards a carbon neutral future, there’s likely to be more significant investment in these schemes. Capitalising on this now, and putting your land to both economical and environmental use, means you can better control your finances and your capital assets.
We’re firm advocates of a no-pressure approach. We understand that you have the best idea of what you want to do with your land, and we’ll always have your best interests at heart with the advice and guidance we provide.
Our extensive experience means we’re able to tailor what we offer and our subsequent information and recommendations we pass along. There is never an obligation or coercion when we draw up the plans we’ll outline for your land, and our expert operatives are all fully aware of the limitations that different plots can bring.
As a landowner and entrepreneur, your time is valuable, and that’s something we take to heart at Tariff. We’ve distilled our extensive and robust process down to 4 simple steps to simplify the process, and remove the onus from you.
Our work begins with a comprehensive assessment, inclusive of a Biodiversity Metric Calculation in conjunction with the Forestry Commission, which all results in a complete feasibility study.
This involves putting into practice all of the results of our comprehensive assessment, as well as better understanding the results of our feasibility study.
We’ve got connections in regional and national organisations, including the National Forest Company, which offer nature-based projects including woodland creation and habitat management.
We’ll take great care in ordering the correct saplings and environmental materials, as well as in preparing the land for planting, sowing, and maintenance.
Our work doesn’t stop there, we’ll be responsible for maintaining and managing your land, and ensuring our solution maximises carbon offsetting, wildlife and wider community benefits.
Woodland Credits are given when a tonne of carbon emissions (CO2e) has been removed from the environment through land that’s registered through the Woodland Carbon Code (WCC). This must then be independently verified before it can be used by companies to offset their existing emissions.
There’s several good reasons why using your land for Woodland Credits. Outside of the natural financial benefits (it’s estimated that companies pay between £10 and £30 per credit, or up to £15,000 per hectare of land), you’re also making a considerable positive impact on our rapidly changing environment.
You’re also giving back to the community, in that you’re helping to improve and otherwise beautify land that might otherwise have been left untouched.
At Tariff, we’re exceptionally proud to offer a service that’s available across the whole of the UK. Our extensive team of experts are able to offer a comprehensive assessment and planning process, as well as robust delivery.
With the UK committing to become full net-zero by 2050, it falls to businesses and enterprises to significantly reduce and offset their emissions. Woodland Credits are an integral part of that, allowing for companies to counteract their remaining emissions and to officially declare themselves as “net-zero” ahead of the 2050 deadline.
At Tariff, we partner with a company called Wanderlands to ensure that all of our Woodland Credits are properly sourced and accredited. They work alongside numerous accreditors and independent regulators, including:
All of the landowner services we offer here at Tariff are completely tailormade for your unique land, circumstances and budget. It’s with this in mind that we’re unable to offer an average price for what we offer, as each package we provide is custom-built for your plot.
